Welcome to the Dunbar Law and Public Policy!
OUR MISSION:
Paul Laurence Dunbar Senior High School has a history of academic innovation and educational rigor that has groomed its students to be college graduates and career professionals who make meaningful change in our community. This can be seen in the litany of Dunbar graduates who have made an imprint on DC including the programs namesake, Eleanor Holmes-Norton.
Our academy nurtures students to become actively involved in their community, using their voices to affect change. We promote problem-solving and communication skills through classwork, service, and other experiences to produce socially aware citizens who succeed in law, criminal justice, public service, public policy, or related fields in college or vocational programs.

We want students who Are civic-minded, curious about law, student activists, collaborators, leaders, competitors, and those who are ready to serve others knowing we are all connected!
In remembrance of our beloved son, academy president, and student lawyer, Richard A. Bangura, we name our peer court after him. We love and miss you dearly!
