The Eleanor Holmes Norton Law & Public Policy Academy at Paul Laurence Dunbar High School empowers “student lawyers” to lead, advocate, and serve with purpose. Through courses in Constitutional Law, Youth Justice, and Human Rights, students connect classroom learning to real issues in Washington, D.C. and beyond—debating cases, analyzing policies, and engaging directly with legal professionals. Many are first-generation college-bound, and the academy equips them with the academic preparation, professional skills, and civic mindset to thrive in higher education and justice-centered careers. In doing so, it carries forward Dunbar’s proud legacy of educating leaders who transform their communities.
