It could help reduce it. I think it just depends on the police officer, the environment, and other factors.

It could be reduced by the police officer being properly trained. -10th grader

Kind of because sometimes they take it as disrespect or "getting smart". - 10th grader

Possibly, but you never know what goes through someone's mind. They may already have it in their mind to harass you but, if you follow directions, then there would be no reason for that. - 10th grader

If you do what the police tell you to do then there won't be a problem. -10th grader

No because we have freedom and rights. Anything we do will not reduce police brutality because they think we are a threat. - 11th grader

No I believe nothing would change. Most people do follow directions. -12th grader

No because I have seen cases where the "criminals" follow instructions but are still shot or brutalized. - 12th grader

Yes. Keep your hands on the wheel and keep your mouth shut. Know your rights and do not give information without your lawyer present. Respect the badge if not the person. You never know when you will need an officer to help you. -4th Floor Adult

Yes I do believe that but there are those people who do not want to go by the rules. - 2nd Floor Adult

It may reduce it slightly - but it will not eliminate it. We know that because of the many current brutality cases. - 3rd Floor Adult

It depends. You can follow instructions but some police will take advantage of their authority. - 4th Floor Adult
