I haven't witnessed police brutality personally, but I have seen the videos of Philando Castille, Eric Garner, Rodney King, and others. All of these accounts were vicious, brutal, and uncalled for. They all brought tears to my eyes and these instances help increase those numbers from #2 above.

One day I was walking home and the police just jumped out and knocked my brother on the ground and hurt him for no reason. - 11th grader

When I was walking near Columbia Heights a black male was just standing on the street and police pulled up and proceeded to bother him.

I saw (on a video) a police officer shoot an innocent civilian because he wouldn't get out of the car. - 10th grader

I've witnessed a police officer use excessive force before. It was painful to watch. Otherwise - I've never witnessed it in person. -3rd Floor Adult
